Belinda Bencic was born on March 10, 1997, in Flawil, Switzerland, into a family deeply rooted in tennis. 

Her father, Ivan, emigrated from Czechoslovakia in 1968 and later became her coach, while her early training came under Melanie Molitor, mother of Martina Hingis. 

By age six, Bencic was training daily, laying the foundation for a career defined by discipline, elegance, and fierce competitiveness.



Her Professional Journey Begins



She turned professional in 2012 and quickly made waves on the WTA Tour. 

Her breakout moment came in 2015, when she won the Premier 5 title in Toronto, defeating four top-10 players including Serena Williams. 

That same year, she reached the fourth round of the US Open and was hailed as one of the sport’s brightest young talents.
